Saint Lucia is an island nation between the eastern Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean, part of the Lesser Antilles. it is located north of the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, north west of Barbados and south of Martinique. It is also known as the "Helen of the West". It is one of the favorite destinations in the Caribbean. With the island's fine natural harbor at Castries, its capital, the northern part of the island has the most tourist attractions with luxurious resorts and beautiful white sand beaches. The south of Castries remains relatively un-touched with beautiful breath taking green mountains, valleys, wild orchids, banana plantations and effervescent volcanoes. The island's heritage is a mixture of French and British heritage with a taste of South Pacific. St. Lucia is about 620 sq. km and the population of 168,425 as of 2006.

The best time to visit St. Lucia would be in the dry season which runs from mid-December to mid-April. Hotel rates would be substantially lower in other months.
